this is my first spirograph and is what i consider my first working prototype. i plan on making alot of improvements, better speed control circuitry, better variability in speed. im using my 50mw green laser module from laser lands a good module but apparently im cooling it too much and might be getting mode jumping gotta post a vid on that soon. well tell me what ya think dislikes likes i need some feedback peoples!!! :takeit: ---------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHOADtK7j38

About what? What do you need feedback about? Do you need help building one?
 
OK here's some feed back ;) great job on the controler and the brick power supply, good thinking :yh: I would change out the mirrors and the motors for smaller ones like these with FS mirrors. here I did a test to see what four would look like, lets just say I wish I knew how to post to you tube and had a video camera ;)

you can get good FS mirrors all over the place for just a couple buck each, try surplushed.

:thanks: i used the pc fans because i liked the speed and look. right now im applying the same circuitry for smaller dc motors like yours. and i got my fs mirror for free out of the back of a projection tv along with the fans and most of my switches but i did order parts because this is for a competition here in michigan
 
Now I'm wondering :thinking: just how slow can you get them fans to turn with your circuit ? my experance hasn't been good with cooling fans and speed control.

pretty slow if you use your fingers :wtf: lol well in my circuit i dont have much control on lower speeds<----room for improvement especially in the lower end but i know you can get them going pretty slow but thats just from memory ill have to do some more experimentation and get back to you. in later projects i plan to have a digital readout for speed units on each one from like 0-99 or w/e

Thats some great work there. I used pc fans for my crappy 2 way spirograph, I think the fans have trouble runnning below a certan RPM. and need higher voltage than the little motors.

Im sure your next one will be even better. :gj:

yeah they do require higher voltage because the circuit in the fan is running the brushless motor only runs from 5-12 volts i think for mine so i had to get the variability to match up in my circuitry to just go in that range only. thanks
