Is there a way to focus the Opto laser pointer?

For those of you who aren't already sick about my 423408 other topics on the subject of the Opto (but this is a more general sort of question)

Short of holding some sort of convex lens infront of everything I would potentially want to point at, is there some way to make the beam...thinner? Ie just sort of focus it more, an attachment at the end of it?

Because then it would be pretty much perfect

The laser in question is the Opto150, what can I add to it to make the beam thinner and focus it more to make it have more effectively powerful*

*note I said effectively, obviously I know it won't make it more powerful as such, but it focusedserwerfsfdsdfsdfsf...you know what I mean.

You need to buy or build a beam expander. There are many posts here about them and they are like a simple telescope in construction.

Forgive me, I'm obviously missing something, but wouldn't beam expander...expand the beam?

Which is sort of the opposite of what I think I want to do MAJOR :S

Right okay I understand now

to be honest the expander is more expensive than the laser itself, utterly ridiculous.

I won't be buying...

Which leaves me more conflicted than ever as to my choice of laser.

An expander does expand the beam then focuses it down at a specific distance like a telescope or camera lens system. I have built many of them and all you need is a diverging lens and a converging lens.
Try building one for 10,600 nM with ZnSe lenses !!!!
