Just got the replacement module and installed it. Preliminary tests show it outputting 115mW, with 21mW of IR, about 18%. Have not run it for more than 30 seconds yet and haven't done a plot either. We'll see how long this one lasts.

which module did you order?

A couple pages ago I mentioned I was going to retest my #150 after the next time I had to recharge my 445's AWs. I have to admit I'm disappointed with the results. It came in at about 135mw which is less than the juice battery gave. I'm wondering if something is wrong with my batteries because I just metered my 445 and it barley put out 700mw when it used to put out between 950-1050mw. I'm going to order some new 16340s next week and see what results I get from both lasers. I kinda hope it's the batteries because I'm gonna be mad if my 445 has degraded that much since I got it in October.

This thread talks about testing internal resistance of batteries. I posted some pictures on page two of that thread showing how to test them. I've been thinking about purchasing some new batteries. From what I read, Li-Ion batteries suffer from aging after only a year. If they have been sitting on a shelf for a year before you bought them, they would not have the same capacity as freshly manufactured ones.

I was thinking about that. I don't have the right resistors to measure it ATM. I bought them from Lighthound in mid-October so I'd hope they're not bad but I'd rather replace $12 in batteries then find out my 445 had degraded by 25%. It'd still be annoying since AW batteries are so highly recommended. Oh well I'll stop derailing this thread for now and report back in a week or two when I have some new batteries.

I got my super beast 100mw a few weeks ago. I love it!

tonight I got bored, and shot it about 24" at some shiny electrical tape.
it put off a very nice patterned reflection, which started to shimmer a bit after about 20 seconds. Then I noticed a bit of smoke coming off the tape as the reflected pattern started moving around.

after about a minute or so, I see that it melted a little hole into, but not quite thru though the tape.

I'm surprised. happily.

Super Beast Green Laser Pointer 006 W/CR123A 3Day SALE - eBay (item 120687935143 end time Feb-23-11 17:10:42 PST)

any idea if this is the same superbeast 100 that now currently goes for 80 something dollars?
(this Super #100 Green Laser Pointer 006 Signal W/CR123A USA - eBay (item 110628339799 end time Feb-23-11 11:44:25 PST))

The first one is about 50mW and the second is the 100mW model. Use the email address in this thread to contact IQS and you still might be able to get the 100 for $25.

Thanks Aries, the sale was 18$ so i figured i would go with that rather than the 25$ 100 but now that i know they are two different things I'll just go ahead and buy the 25$ super beast 100 from him directly.

I emailed him last night asking if there is a discount, didn't hear back. Ordered anyway since it's still a great deal and he seems to have a good reputation here...

I'm brand new here as well, hi everyone :)
