Short green module?

I ordered some lasers and hosts, etc awhile back and they finally came, but the seller (so I thought) had forgotten to include a promised sample of their 40-50mW green module - imagine my surprise this morning when I went to throw out the box and saw an anti-stat bag peeking out of the flap at the bottom of the box! (Woo Hoo - Just like Christmas!)

Here's the deal, though - this is the shortest green module I have seen (so short I'm almost afraid to press it into a host for fear it'll just get lost in there or be impossible to get back out, etc) - I'm going to give it a shot in one of my mini-RPL style hosts later today but I had to post a pic of it and ask if anyone has seen these short modules before, they're kinda cool... 12X26mm, wow!

Nice find! I have never seen one that small, I would love to hear if it lives up to its specs! Is it possible to open it and see what driver is being used? Looks like it's in two parts, press-fitted together.

The module is actually 3 pieces, see photo. The crystal set is actually off-centered (like the initial IR beam is emitted off to one side of the diode mount instaead of dead center) and then the middle section is an offset lens, then the final section is the focusing lens ....

Wish I knew more about the dynamics, etc of Green laser modules - care to speculate (I can take better pics if needed)... And without fitting it into a host I can't be 100% sure, but it looks like the beam emits a degree or two from "straight" (could be an optical illusion, though - or an articact of Chinese QC)
