Hey guys/gals (any gals?) I bought the Apple iPhone this weekend, the 3Gs with video and I am happy with its video feature....I can finally shoot some decent video. This one is of my RPL 425 lighting a stormproof match, which is somewhat difficult to light with a laser, but the RPL lit it pretty quickly, check it out.

Did you use a black marker to color the match head black ? The RPL-400 & RPL-425 can light a match head even if it is white (I have done that many times before with my RPL-400 which outputs an average of 485mW). There should be no need to color it black.

Hey there. I did not color the match head black, it is actually a dark brown head and the rest of the match is a red orange color. I have not tried a white match yet, I bet that is cool.

Wow. I just got a CNI PGL-III-C 400mW in the CNI GB...
Your photography makes the anticipation so much worse.
Would you, by any chance, have any beam comparisons between your RPL and a ~100mW green laser?
I'm assuming you use a little fog/smoke or some camera tricks for a solid looking beam, but do you have any photos of an "honest" beam-shot?

By the way, what camera do you use for your photos?
The only SLR I've got is an old Canon AE-1 (uses 35mm film). I'd get myself a DSLR but all my money goes to school and lasers.

Hey RA_pierce,

I don't have an actual "no smoke" shot of the laser together but I can produce one! I will try that here in a few minutes. As for the camera, I use the Nikon D3 with either a 50mm or 85mm lens attached. I also have a D700 that I use. I will PM you a photo of the two beams. Don't you just hate the feeling of anticipation...? It helps to think about something else....but that never works.

Wow. That is stunning.
Thanks a lot!
It's much brighter than the 150mW pointer... more than I expected at least.
The PGL will be a big improvement over the ~100mW pointers I'm used to.
