Replace module or get an entirely new laser?

Hey guys, would appreciate opinions on what i should do.

I have a disused DX pen laser body, module's unfortunately gone due to a mishap. So i'm wondering which would be more value-for-money:

1. Getting a replacement module of a higher power (Who doesn't want more power? :D)

or

2. Getting an entirely new green laser (Doesn't have to be a pen laser).

I haven't really decided on what power i would like or can afford but a general consensus would be brilliant!

Oh and the laser body's really ugly, the black coating's totally torn away (One large chunk tore and decided to remove it completely)

Thanks in advance!

I agree with John, the True 5's are a great buy at $10.50. Some have had them putting out >30mW right out of the box. I'd also read some threads about the True 5, they explain better than I can.

Personally, I would look in the "but sell trade" threads for one of Ehgemus' custom green hosts for around $35, and purchase the biggest module you can afford from O'like. The reason I lean this way is the ease in swapping modules with Ehgemus' hosts, so in the future if you wish to upgrade (or if your module ever decides to die on you) it's an easy 2-minute deal to swap out for another module.

Also, these hosts provide excellent heatsinking (far more than a pen-style host) so they will help extend the life of any module you put in there...

I second that.
