rechargeable AAA's from DX

Hi guys, I found some rechargeable batteries from DX, and unfortunately I cannot post a link for it. They just say "Rechargeable Batteries AAA" and are green. LOL on the picture, it says AA NiMH 2200 mAh 1.2Volts on them. Are these reliable for a NOVA x75? If not, please post some rechargeables that are, and a charger to go with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but after looking through some posts on the forums, people say there are no rechargeable AAA's in existence. Please help!

No rechargeable AAA's in existence? LOL. My lasers are powered by MAGIC! ;D

AAA's are really common, unlike some of the other batteries lasers take. I'd suggest just going to your local electronics store and picking some up. Be a lot easier, and you wouldn't have to wait forever for them to arrive

In fact, just last week I picked up some nice rechargeable AAA's from the supermarket

get rechargeable sanyo eneloops! i use them for my graphics calculator lol ;D i bought mine at Tandy in australia for 23 bucks. if your in the US u could probably get them at radioshack for a lot less

AHH! Those things suck! I have some of those, for the first week or two they worked alright, but after that they barely worked at all! Get eneloops instead, they will rock in your X series pointer.

Hi people,
I've got little problem with my new True DX30, it shines really bright but just for 30 sec and then it shines maybe like 10mW, when I give it little break (1 min.) it's OK, but after 10 sec. it's the same like the first time...
When I look into it (not directly, but with little angle) when it's not shining so much, I can see little red light, what is that? Is that IR or what? It can't be IR, right?

I bought it with one pair of Maxuss AAA 1100mAh rechargables

Do you think it's problem of those batteries? (only 1.2V or cheap...) or it's some problem with the laser, or this is normal?

First off, NEVER look at that dim red light, that is infrared light that can easily fry your eyes!

In my DX30, the Maxuss rechargeables cause it to dim like yours does. But if I put in eneloop rechargeable batteries (The best batteries for green pen lasers!) that dimming problem goes away. Those Maxuss batteries aren't very good.

Oh crap, I'm an Idiot, I looked at it couple of times... but I think my eyes are OK...
How come that IR can be seen?

The light you are seeing is not technically IR, it is Near IR which is near invisible, but you can still see it. Everybody calls it just IR though.

Also, don't get the eneloops off of DX if that is what you are going to do, the ones on DX are actually over priced, you can get them cheaper on other sites.

So I bought them in local shop, but now I think it's a problem of laser

It's maybe a bit better but practicly the same... 35 sec really bright, then it starts dim out really quickly.. and after 1,5 minutes it's really dimmed (i forgot to tell that after 30 sec it's dimming more and more...) and after 1 minute pause just 10 sec... and the same...

So it's not battery issue at all.. I tried to power it on for a minute, then I replaced batteries and it was dimmed too... so do you know why? Can I repair it somehow or not

Is it overheated or anything else?

It doesn't bother me that much now, but wanted to make some spyrograph in the future and with this problem it will not be that good

If it's not the batteries your laser probably just likes being cold. When you turn it on for 30 seconds it heats it just enough for the efficiency to drop. A lot of pointers have this problem unfortunately.

Yes I just tried to put it into fridge for a minute and then turn it on and it was ok for about 3-4 minutes. So it's definitely overheating issue. So if I want to use it for longer times, I would just put it into fridge

I learned the hard way that putting them in the fridge will fog the optics. Be careful.

Oki, thanks for warning, I tried cooling fan and it worked too, so I think it will be better to use that than fridge
