This deal looks incredible but it has mixed reviews and I dont know whether to believe it or not. So long as it can pop balloons im gettin it.

It will probably be able to pop balloons but no guarantees. Check out DealExtreme: Cool Gadgets at the Right Price - Site-Wide Free Shipping (Page 1) (DX). It's a chinese whosale company that sells laser pointers among a crapload of other stuff. Most of their lasers are underspec (not actually the advertised mW output). But just look at the prices.

btw whats a IR filter and is the lack of one important?

also if this flashed into my eye for like a second would i go blind??

An IR filter is a filter that filters out the IR- infared 808nm that comes from all green lasers. There is a lot of debate on whether or not you need an IR filter.

If it's a true 100mw laser then eye it can/will blind you in a scond

ok 1 more thing though, Will they ship to me since im in the US?

also what kind of eye protection would u recommend? Would normal sunglasses work?

I have no idea if they will ship to the USA or not.

You should get a pair like these Laser Glasses - Green and blue laser beam protection :: Laser Safety :: Dragon Lasers

Or any other laser saftey glasses rated for 532nm

DX will NOT ship this to the US. The FDA has PayPal limiting the $ for anything over 5mW. Look to one of the "domestic" re-shippers or one of the other resellers who have not been accosted by the FDA yet.
