Hi. I'm new here, and new to lasers in general. I am going to order this laser, but i have a couple of questions. First off, is the button the "click" (I don't know how to describe it) style, where you just click and it stays on? Also, is it focusable? Can it ship to the US? This is everything I want with the laser, so if this laser doesn't do all that, is there one that will on rayfoss?

Also, will these be good goggles? I really want to protect my vision.

Thank you all for answering.

Both of those lasers are "Momentary" which means the laser will turn off when you let go of the button. If you want it to stay on just use a rubberband. I'm not sure of the actual OD of the glasses but they should work just fine for either one of those lasers. If you look around Mabye somebody has done a review of them glasses.

I would also like to say, welcome to the forums!

Edit: Oh and if you do buy one of those lasers and glasses don't look directly into the laser.

Oh missed some stuff.... Yes they will ship to the us and they "both" are focusable.

What does od mean? Sorry but I'm a complete noob lol. Also, i know not to stare directly at it, but thanks for that comment.

So there are no "click" style button lasers on rayfoss or o-like for that color and mW? That's a bummer.

OD is optical density. The higher of your glasses are the better they protect your eyes. Those glasses are >5 OD but I don't think they are certified which means they would be lower OD than stated, but even so they should suffice. Rayfoss and o-like both do have tailcap colicky lasers and I can provide some links when I get home. Look at rayfosses waterproof models both are the clicky kind and are focusable.

I don't see any of the waterproof ones saying anything about being focusable... maybe they discontinued some???

Also, on styropyro's review, he said it was reverse clicky, What does that mean? Thank you!

Post 9 was made only 11 minutes after post 8.

Dude, have some patience! Entire forum is not waiting for you to post a question!

If the last part of head of the laser is knurled or in any way appears unfixed so it can turn to focus, it's focusable!
That means you can change the size of the dot. Which in green lasers is not really needed.

Reverse or normal clicky, difference minimal and un noticed.
Clicky means that you need to click it again to stay on/off.
Momentary - you have to hold it to be on, if you let it go, it'l shut off.

Sorry if I sounded rude/impatient, I guess it was because Jeffrey answered so fast every time, and I saw that well over 100 people where viewing this section, I thought I might get an instant answer. Again, sorry.

Anyways, what about this laser? I assume all rayfoss waterproof lasers are the same, other than color, right?

Thanks to everyone who has responded.

Jeffrey,
I saw that on my laser, but on none of the waterproof ones does it say that.

Yes i saw. I thought they were but they may not be focusable. My 200mw is but the greens may not... I would suggest the one you 1st posted unless you plan to swim with your laser

Edit: also its fine about being impatient i understand. I have email notification on my phone so when somebody reply's to a thread it dings and gets sent to my email. This way i don't have to keep refreshing pages. Understand though, people may not reply even if they view it because most of the "noob" questions that are asked here have already been answered by the search bar or they may not know the answer to your question.

Lol swimming with a laser:p. That's not what I wanted the waterproof ones for, I wanted them for the clicky button. What I want from my first "real" laser is:
less than 100 dollars
focusable
green 50 mW
clicky button
legal for importing to the us

Please tell me a laser that has all that, because if there is one, I cant find it.

Just so you know, 50mw is actually "Illegal" to import in the us (5mw is the legal limit) . Alot of companys will do it anyways so if your really interested in a high powered green laser for 100$ or less you should do some more shopping. Just remember though as you get higher in mw the risk for eye injury increases. Even if you have glasses other people can get hit with reflections so be careful. Ill try to help you the best i can but the final decision is yours when it comes to shopping for lasers.

Also remember too, you can use a regular magnefying glass or convex lens to focus your beam.
