Rayfoss laser - no instruction manual!

So I just received the following laser from Rayfoss in the mail:

532nm 300mW IR Filtered Focusable Green Laser Torch [RF532-300mW-HGX(IR Filtered)] - $259.00 : Rayfoss Lasers!, Rayfoss your trusable onlinestore

And it came with no instruction manual! So I have the following questions:

1. How can I be sure to put the battery in the correct direction?

2. Is the little 3.5mm jackish plug in the end a safety key?

3. Is the orange button on the bottom an extra safety switch?

4. Is the button above the power button on the middle a power setting?

Well. This is a fairly new laser to the Chna sites, so not many of us have had a chance to check one out. I can try to answer your questions, as that laser has many of the same safety features as FDA approved handheld lasers.
1. Almost all green lasers are case positive (neg towards spring)
2. Yes
3. Sort of. It's probably the main power switch.
4. Not sure. Are there two buttons there, or is one an LED?

Nice laser, did you get it metered?

1. If this happens to be the exception, will I damage my laser getting it wrong? Is the spring always against the negative of a battery usually anyway?
4. There are 2 buttons. One with a typical PC power switch icon on it, and a smaller one above it with no symbol. And above that are 3 leds, so I'm sort of assuming power level?

And just so I know if anything is "off," about how long does a typical and/or first charge of the battery take?

Thanks for the help.

Don't know if that laser has reverse polarity protection. You can assume it does because Rayfoss is good with warranties (also, most newer lasers do).

Hmm. 2 buttons on the side? You'll have to tell us what they do.

With that charger, I would say a few hours. It depends on how full the battery was when you started. :p

Orange is the main power button like you said. The little gray button switches between power levels, which are indicated by the 3 leds.

Damn this thing is sweet. Its my first laser too. What's really amazing is how bright the dot is. I looked through down under my goggles at my shirt 5 feet away from the surface it was on and it was being blasted by green light, I can't imagine how bright it would be without the goggles on.

As far as getting it metered, no I didn't. Not sure where I could now though, I'm in Milwaukee.
