quick question about green laser

hy ! so i bought a laser a while a go from one of those Chinese companies and it was stated that the laser was 100mW. "A few specs of the laser"; 100mW, fixed focus,push on off button, NON pen laser (black metal ones). With this laser i was able to smoke black leather and burn some small holes in black trash bags, my question is, Can a true (or at least close !) FIXED FOCUS 100mW green laser do all this ? or my laser its just 30mW with luck ?!! :wtf:

My almost 50mW fixed focus grren laser could burn holes in thin black plastic, but i a wild guess from is that your laser would be a little under 100mW (Could be a maximum of 30mW under.) Remember those goggles, safety first

R u sure that a 30mW loser can smoke some leather and cut electrical tape ??!!, if so then I have a 30+-100 mW laser Thanks 4 the reply

I meant that it could be under spec by up to 30mW, how fast does it moke the leather?

It takes some time its not instant I would say 10 secs ?!

Well i dont have a 100mW here so i can't test, this is just a complete stab in the dark. But i would say that it would probably be close to 100mW, maybe a little less.

Mine doesn't burn plastic or smoke leather at all ( real leather, you could be using the fake stuff maybe)? Mine is fixed focused as well, go here to see more about it http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/100mw-green-pen-build-80976.html My module is from ebay though, so either yours has more than it claims or is about right and mine is under spec. I think you have an overspec one because you can see the dot of mine in bright daylight a few hundred meters away.
