1.) Can you light matches with yours?
2.) Can you see the beam in daytime? How bright is the dot in a well lit room?
3.) What battery do you use? (I think i need to get a new battery, mine is only 3v @ 700)

:thanks:

In response to your questions:

1) Yes. I have lit red-tipped matches no problem in as little as a second.
2) No beam in the daytime, and the dot is very bright in a well lit room.
3) I use a Tenergy 3.0v 750mAh rechargeable battery.

Now, there is a catch. If you use it the way you receive it, you will not burn anything. The laser has to be focused in order for it to burn. You will either have to use a magnifying glass or open the laser and screw/unscrew the lens to focus it. I suggest focusing so the dot is smallest at around 6 inches or so.

If you plan on burning stuff or using it indoors, proper safety glasses are a must. It's not worth destroying your eyes to light a match.

Hope that helps a bit.

1. No I wasnt able to burn anything with mine.
2. If you are out in the sunlight you wont see the beam, But I was in my basement which had plently of sunlight in it and the beam is visible if you are directly behind the beam. See the pic below. Dot is Bright. And at night.. the beam is Very visible!
3. Im using a Tenergy 3.0V LifePo4 750mah battery. (I have some 3.7V 880mah batteries on the way, should be even brighter with those.)

mine arrived yesterday. the lens was only held in place by a token amount of glue and does refocus, however with the included lens i'm not able to concoct a point of focus smaller than the lens, eg. a bit smaller than a pencil eraser.

1) i don't have any matches, it won't smoke or make a mark in anything.
2) the beam is barely visible at nighttime. the dot is quite bright though.
3) the included panasonic.

i'm kinda bummed as i needed something that burns. sometime i'll bend a piece of wire to sit in the notches and unscrew the host so i can get at the componentry. i won't want to burn it out, since other ppl are getting more power out of theirs i'll try adjusting the pot.
