Question regarding CNI GLP-532?

I'm about to purchase a GLP-532 from DragonLasers, specifically their 15mW model. However, on their website they list the duty cycle of the unit as only 45 seconds?!?!? This can't be right no? 532 shouldn't release that much heat to require such a duty cycle?

Thanks :thanks:

I know many cheap DPSS 532nm style modules from China and such have drivers that overheat, so it might be that but that's just a guess. Also keep in mind a DPSS diode will have a higher IR output power than the final (rated) output.

Could be a listing error, I'd message them and see what they have to say. :yh:

Indeed, but CNI shouldn't be using cheap 532 DPSS modules. It's just strange that there is such a short duty cycle... I was hoping someone with this particular or similar unit could pitch in :yh:

Try asking Adam at DL if that's the real duty cycle. That would make sense for the higher powered pens, but not for a 15mw.

Sounds about right. To be on the safe side--whenever it gets warm.

I had asked Jack at Optotronic's if my 75mw 532 had a sinked driver and it doesn't.
Something to consider as they are both higher end builds?
