Question about Replacing Module

Hi, I have a question about changing the module in my green laser. I'm fairly new to lasers so bear with me. The laser I have is just a standard cheap 5mw green newwish model from amazon. I'll post some pics of it and the module. I've had it for about a year and a half. I now want to switch the module with another one that's either 30mw or 50mw. I just thought it would be cheaper to do this than buy another one. The module I would get would be this: DIY 30mW 532nm Green Laser Module. Would I be able to replace this one with the one in it now? Would it fit? Also, from what it says on the website I'm pretty sure it already comes already soldered with the spring. So there wouldn't be any additional soldering I would have to do, right? Would I just screw on the new module on the silver cap of the laser and press it back in? Sorry I have so much questions. I just want to know what I'm doing, haha :yh:.Thanks

let them know that you want a spring attached. then just screw it into the head piece, line up the switch with the hole, then press it in.

Ok thanks. I'm now actually thinking about using a different host, cause I have a mini mag lite I think I could use. I also have a small flashlight with the clicky on/off button on the end. Would this be too complicated? I'm trying to find a tutorial on how to do this.

the hardest part would be to make the 'heatsink' or something to keep the module in place. I dont think that moudule would fit in a mini mag without sticking out. plus you'll need a tail switch for the maglite. as for the flashlight. youll just have to get the heatsink, make sure the batteries fit and are the right voltage and bypass the switch on the driver so you can use the tail switch.

Alright, so what would i use for the heatsink or to keep the module in place?Would I have to buy it? I think I'm going to try the flashlight, but it's kind of small so is it ok for the module to stick out a little? How exactly would I bypass the switch on the driver? depends what flashlight you have-post a pic and i can give more detail. since your only using a 30mW module, you should be able to get away with just using some washers as a module support. the module sticking out is just aesthetics. Personally i dont like the look of it. to bypass the switch, solder a wire between the two opposite tabs on the switch.
