Question about Laser 303??

Hi Guys,

The other day i stupidly paid $65 bucks for a green laser 303 with battery/charger and star attachment thingy.. Needless to say after seeing them on ebay for a couple of bucks i returned it and got a refund.

My question is upon researching it, i found some threads here saying it outputs around 100 mW. But they are advertised and sold as 5mW .. Am I missing something?

Also when buying these online some say laser 303 others say sd 303 and some say nothing? Is there any difference or what is the deal?

Thanks guys!

I would recommend this (red) or this (green)
You would also need suitable laser goggles. I would recommend this. Choose from the link the appropriate goggles depending on the laser's wavelength.

No, no I really shouldn't. The last thing I do is spoon feed people who are too lazy to do the work themselves. You will get no where in life if you must have everyone do the work for you. Replying is very easy and quick. Pulling links and doing a search for you takes time and is pointless because we already know all the amswers. Thats because we all search before we open a new thread

$50 for a 100mw 532nm!?

Even it's a quality build from sflasers. I won't spend over 10 to all low power green pointer.

Get nowhere in life? oh man would i love to show you my career portfolio.. I appreciate what your saying though honestly people dont use the search functions enough on forums..

That being said the guy above was happy enough to help I went trough all the links and searched again and still none of my above questions where really answered in any of those threads about the laser 303..

One of my favorite books by the way is the 48 Laws of power. Law 7: "Get others to do the work and always take the credit"

Yep, the American way, well.... global way, in business when you have good people making your business a success.

Those "5 mw" lasers on ebay are rarely that low power, they say that in order to satisfy eBay's rules that they can't be higher power than that. Most 303's are 50-70 mw, some 100mw but up to 1/3 of that power, or more, is infrared you can't see.

As an immigrant to the US i learned the hard way.. Thank you for actually answering one of my questions.. I was thinking it was for legal reasons..

Thank you

303/SD-303 etc are all pretty much the same (303s come with a screw adapter on the end, 301s don't, the rest is just minor build variation). They will all be about 80-100mW.

They're OK for the money (if you're paying $10-$20) in 532nm but some of the 405nm and 650nm are inadequately heat-sinked and kill diodes in short order.

The 532nm won't have any form of IR filter so you get a free beam of 808nm invisible laser light that passes through most goggles.

As they say, you get what you pay for :)

Not always when buying on the internet, some China sellers inflate the price to make their products appear to be high quality when they are really cheap junk, sometimes you don't get what you pay for and when it comes to China sellers and lasers, you have to be very wise, few of the ebay sellers of these items are reputable, except for having a bad one.
