Be sure not to light a match closer than 2 inch, as you will get the lens dirty, if it is a low power issue email Wicked Lasers and let them know, in my experience a very still balloon only a few feet away of dark color, (or with a black spot drawn with a sharpie pen), and with a steady hand, you should be able to pop a balloon. It does take a couple of seconds of the exact same spot being hit, then it should pop! -Glenn

try using some brand new batteries, or maybe trying some Energizer Lithium AA's. The pump diode is probably drawing around 1A or more, which can be demanding on regular alkaline batteries.

then maybe the beam diameter isn't tight enough to pop the balloon. Or maybe it's just not doing well on the blue balloon. I put some used batteries in my Evo pro to get the output down to about 125mW, and I was able to pop a black balloon from 2 feet within 2 seconds.

I then put some even older AA's in there, dropping the output to about 95mW, and I was still able to pop a black balloon from 2 feet within 2 seconds.

So either your beam diameter is too large, or you should try using a black balloon.

I always use black balloons to be consistant. Try a black mark on the balloon. So far, all the Evo Pro lasers have been good here.
I use Energizer e2 or ultimate cells.

Yes, I still have the 1st set of Energizers in my Evo Pro 130, which I got from the recent GB, and play with it frequently. It is weaker, and I should probably install a fresh set of batteries, but it still smokes the veneer on my desk from up close.
