So, I got bored again, so I built a fasttech module into a playing card laser :D
Let the pics speak for themselves :)

Great idea kilter, now that's just what some of us need, a free or low cost host. I thought I'd seen everything, a cardboard box, a plastic box, a wooden box, an Altoids tin, a mustard bottle, a Nintendo, and who knows what else, and now a playing cards box. I am going to have a look around and see what I have that may work as a host, every laser I build costs too much. Keep up the good work.

I agree, a lot of people are making some really cool stuff with random stuff around the house! Thanks for the rep!

Truly Ghetto-tastic!
Don't worry, everything is nicely soldered, I just slobbered hot glue on it to make sure it doesn't short!

Thank you! Sometimes I feel like everything should have a laser module and driver mounted in it!
As far as the solder job... I can't see it! But I'm sure it's great!
Rep rep love it!

Funny, I just did a whole bunch of Altoids, 1 sucrets, 1 gold generic and 1 silver generic box for a total of 8 units. 1 with a 405nm at 150mW (SLD3234VVF) and the rest over 400mW 650nm (lpc-826 diodes) if you test with a G-2;) and still 300-350 with the standard plastic lens. I was going to post them soon. Already did a green one in an Altoids probably a year ago with a Fasttech module.

EDIT: Just posted the Altoids stuff.
