Yo, most remarkable dudes! Are all of you enjoying your lasers??? I had some fun with mine this evening. Took a 30 second exposure of the laser pointing into the sky, and yes I did check for aircraft before I turned it on. The bright star you see to the left of the photo is planet Jupiter, the Milky Way looks fairly decent for the short exposure. The RPL 425 was on during the entire exposure, 30 seconds. I think it looks very neat.

Yo! The laser is red because I was out with my telescope and I use a red LED light to protect my night vision and I just illuminated the laser body like that so you can see where it is. But I sort of added too much light.... Thanks for the comments.

Damn.. $5000 for just the body! I am looking at a Rebel xsi or xti. Unless you have another suggestion for a $400-$600 body? Thanks

-Mike

EDIT: I don't think we have a clear enough sky out here for photos like that

Well the Canon 1000D seems to be pretty good, highest ISO is only 1600 though, my D3 goes up to 6400. So if 1600 ISO will suit you then it will be a good camera. Here is a full list of canon cameras including samples and a full review of each:

this will really help you to decide.

GREAT PICS, pal. I wish the air around here ( Ft. Wayne ) wasn't so polluted, maybe I could come up with some decent photo's then. Nice job..........rob

Woah! Those are some incredible photos, its a shame i live in an area with too much light pollution to see more that half a dozen stars in the night sky :undecided:
