Ooops, have i wasted my cash?

I would if my internet wasn't down at home , i shouldn't be writing this at work lol!! if i get caught, i'm toast!!

Ok, its pretty simple in that its the ray getting bigger the further away it goes, but i just want to know if that means it gets weaker & what is the need for a unfocused laser?
& also my question about mode hopping?

I recently purchased that same model of laser as well.

To answer your questions
1) The focus works. When focused to "infinity", it is a small very bright spot though not as clean and tight as some more expensive lasers. As turn the lens out, the spot enlarges to what looks like two spots. At room temperature, I have not noticed any warm up time, but outside at -20 C it quits working altogether.
2) I found the divergence greater than my Laserex LP2000 (yeah that's all I have to compare it to) but at 250 meters, it still appears as an impressive bright green dot. I'm sure if you went over to it you'd find all sorts of fault, but how often does anyone really do that?
3) Visibility of the beam is somewhat subjective. In my office lit with fluorescent lights, the beam is barely visibly against a dark surface. Outside in daylight I can only see the beam with the aid of smoke, like from my car exhaust. At night I find the beam very visible and impressive. Not so much in the presence of say, a street light though.

When focused properly, it will burn through electrical tape easily and light matches coloured black in an instant. That's what really counts isn't it? One last thing, regardless of how under spec your laser might be, I would recommend the appropriate safety glasses. You are into a power range where eye damage is a very real possibility. I enjoy mine a lot, I'm sure you will too. On another note, I had some difficulty with shipping. O-like was very good at returning e-mails and keeping me up to date. Great customer service.

To the OP, there is no such thing as a waste of cash...I tend to look at such incidents as sometimes very expensive but invaluable lessons. :beer:

1. How much more expensive a laser do you mean? & 2 spots, i mean thats not right is it??, is that mode hopping??, i have looked on here & i still don't know anything about how to handle that or even if it exists with my laser!!???

2. I should hope it is a good dot at 250 meters, my 1mW red at 200 meters has a dot, i am expecting it to have a green dot at miles when its a 200mW, not meters? !!
I don't understand this, i mean meters!! What do you mean about divergence at 250 meters! I would think i'd have a miniscule dot at such a short length & also a huge length!!

3. I don't expect it to be visible in daylight too much or flourescent light, but indoors in a normal houselight i expect as in the youtube video like this:-

Just a thought! I thoughts that a 200mW laser would show a beam for miles, not meters, that the beam would be seen for miles unfocused or focused & inside house etc!!! I mean i payed more to get this in a 200mW not a 50mW!! I seen that any laser up to 500mW isn't visible in bright daylight, i don't expect that, just as in the video!
But, i guess from what you say it gives a graet beam & burns well in daylight to an extent & indoors all the time! & night obviously & dusk!!
Thats all i want!!

Has anyone any idea if there are better batteries available than the ones that come with it, to increase power output & distances between charges & maybe some disposable Duracell etc that i can get if the batteries come ages after the laser?

When i 1st turn my laser on, will i get hardly any power until it warms up? How long will warm up take & will this always be the case when i turn it on? & mode hopping etc!
I read a lot about mode hopping, but not seen much about how often it happens & what i can do to get rid of it!

This is not good, I really hope your Laser works out for you Waterface :undecided:

I read your Laser clocks in at 180mW, which is GREAT but not what O-Like claims as a true 200mW!!! Just a tad underpowered, not bad, but not what the description claims!

Overall I think you will be fine, can't wait to see your review on this Laser!!!

Well i also read that no laser beam can be seen i pure daylight, not even a 500mW laser, i think laserbee or phoenix mentioned this!!
Indoors is different & in dusk etc!

What do you mean when you say its not good?
I doubt that from what i hear & read that there is much difference between the odd 20 mW in what we can see visually, but as long as it does what i hope in burning & a great beam (dusk, indoors) i'm happy!

You have been whining to me in PMs and on multiple threads about this same laser for a few days now...

You have repeatedly been asked to be patient until your laser arrives... because no one knows how your Laser will actually perform...

Being a Smarta$$ is not to your advantage...
if anyone should be annoyed... it is the other members by your repeated
questions about the same (non-arrived) Laser..

Hi, the main body of the laser arrived today, it looks nice, although i assume things like stickers & instructions, power test sheets will arrive seperate as if they came with the body of the laser, it would've been easy to match up the power to the item if customs got it!
Stickers like the green, white, red & black one at the end with power & warning etc, & the one that says 'Ancient Laser V6' like on the pic.

Has anyone who's ordered from o-like before had stickers etc shipped after?

I have done & got not much back, only that there is a 2nd package, but i was wondering if people here that ordered from o-like had the same, where they got all stickers etc seperate!!
The laser looks nothing like what i ordered in that it has no writing on it!! 'Ancient Laser V6' It looks more like the stars one!
I just wondered if these were decals that are included in 2nd delivery & if people here can tell me & reassure me of that fro their experiences!

I think I will be more happy for you when you get your Laser then when I get mine


When you say it looks like the other O-Like Laser, have you compared to the pictures on there site? Maybe she shipped you her other 200mW? If so be happy, because I was really torn between that one and the Rayfoss Laser for a while there. From the UTube video, thats an awesome Laser man, it has some serious burn power!

I doubt that mate, i just want what i see & paid for, thats all & i think is normal & not unfair to ask for!!

Maybe it is because i haven't got the stickers yet & the 'Ancient laser V6' Isn't on this laser, just the 'flat area' for something to be written there!! Maybe i will get a sticker for there that will say that along with the sticker at the top!!

You know, i may be seen as a tad stressed & inpatient!! But this aint (up to now) a 'one of many lasers' ! , its a 1 off purchase that i want to get right & all i need!!
Maybe i will get a 500mW in future or a Han Solo Blaster, but for now, i just can afford this amount of money & it's a big deal for me to spend this kind of money on something i don't need but want & have always wanted & now i'm buying!!

So appologies for anyone i may've offended or annoyed by my questions, i just, as anyone would be, to spend $160 dollars + on something i can't really afford,i wanna get it right!!
