O-like vs. Day: Which should I go with?

Okay, so I'm going to have some money to spend on a green laser module and IR filter in about a week. I need to know which would be better in terms of power, stability, and divergence:

An 80-100mW O-like module, or

A 150mW module from Day.

I know that Day is a very trustworthy member, but he can't account for his supplier (BOBlaser). I'm definitely leaning towards Day, as that's a lot more power (or it should be, anyway.) Either way, worth my money. Which one?

Well, the two options are basically the same.
You can go with the olike module which has been reported to put out more than advertised (>100mW, that should be between 110 and 120mW, maybe more). Or go with the other module which should be the same price or just a bit more but you don't know if it performs as advertised.

Don't take me wrong, I don't know Day's shop so I can't say anything.

Maybe you could ask Day to meter your module and then send it to you if you want exact readings.

Here's my take:

Day  [smiley=thumbup.gif] .....      BOBLaser  [smiley=thumbdown.gif]                which equals 50%  [smiley=thumbup.gif]

o-like   [smiley=thumbup.gif] .....                     which equals 100%  [smiley=thumbup.gif]

I can't speak for the quality of BOBlaser's wares,  but as for o-like the only issue I've had has been slightly bad divergence, but now they've started getting their modules from a different manufacturer. The newest modules I've gotten from o-like have been excellent all around.

I have seen bad reviews of BOBlaser and their products here on the forum a few times (hence the thumbs down)..

Hey Mark...
from what I've read on the Forum... it seems that BOBLaser products
are underpowered.... for example "lowell" got a 700mW laser that does 485mW....
I wouldn't think a lower priced BL 120mW would put out 120mW let alone over...
Then again I could be wrong...

Every module I purchased from Susie is above the stated power...
I know where I would send my money.... ::)

Yeah I'd definitely go with Susie. Just got my 80-100mw pointer and It's really pretty good. I have no doubts about the output, obviously. And the only problem I had was the dot got bigger than I would have liked really far away. But I just put a very thin spacer between the diode heatsink and the glued on lens, and the dot got smaller at the same distance I did it at before. I'm waiting on the 180-200mw red with the new focusing head atm from Susie, and I highly doubt I will be disappointed.

Oh, and by the way. Susie's new wish-resembling pointers...They come apart Incredibly nice. pull cap off and module comes right out, but stays in tight when put together. Very convenient for lens cleaning.

As most of the others have said, I would go with O-like. They have never disappointed me and the things I have read about BOBlaser were very negative.. people getting about half the advertised power and no customer service once they had paid.
