I am trying to put a glass lens in my o-like 120-150mW module, I removed the lens housing from the diode housing. It looks like a second lens is glued to the module right after the crystal (I don't have a camera or i would take a pic). The beam from the module comes out round so I would assume they are using two lenses to focus this laser? I just wanted conformation from anyone who has taken one of these apart before removing this "lens" glued to the module.
Also if they are using two acrylic lenses(which would both lose power) then going to a AR coated glass lens should give significant performance boost right?

I think the second lens is not a lens, is the crystal that turns IR into green light

I can see the crystal that is changing the IR into green, this is a FLAT plastic looking disc AFTER the crystal with a small concave divot where the beam comes out of.

I'm not sure, but as far as i know, the "glued" lens is a beam expander (double concave lens aligned with the conversion crystal ..... if it look like a very small negative lens inside a transparent "holding space", then it is that)

I think that if you remove it, and then don't have the tools to realign it properly, you risk to waste your module ..... but is better that you wait the opinion of some more expert user here, too, for better safety :)

Totally true, I was wrong.

Yupp the thing you can see glued on is an expanding lens, not the crystals :)

Good

Okay So I will try it on my 5mW module before i go and butcher up a perfectly good $100 one.
Once i get it working I'll try and see If i can get some power readings before and after mod. Both Larry and Jay have good data on the new lens they are using with red and blu-ray but I haven't seen a green tested with it yet.
