so im awaiting my o-like 120-150 mW module, its been 3 weeks and susie says itll ship tomorrow, so i think itll be worth it. my question is when i recieve it can i use it as it is? or should i use a host? i have a blank pen host but i dont know if itll make a difference. i guess what im really saying is are they well heatsinked?
thanks a lot

depends

Mine doesn't get too hot, shouldn't need additional heatsink unless you want long duty cycles.
Also depends on voltage you supply.

Tony, you can use it "as is" if you are going to wire the battery to the casing and -ve terminal. A host is definitely the best way to go in my opinion.
As for heat sinking, mine dosn't get too hot but I have them for ease of use... nice looking ones from likeitbright & jayrob.

Hmm.

Well I only have a Hobbyist laser power meter, from what I have measured it is up to spec or over (wouldn't expect to be as underrated as you expect in your last post). I do not have data logging to measure power before and after warm up time. You should be happy with it either way, green is soo bright it is hard to tell difference between 120mW and 150mW with your eyes unless you do a a side by side comparison. I put my 80-120mW in a pen and it blows people away. Visible beam in dark w/ no smoke.
