So I am looking for an alternative to arctic, but I would like something more powerful at the same time. I read here on the forum, that the Endeavor 275 is the most powerful handheld. I am confused because the specs from the Arctic are better/higher, aren't they?

Higher specs don't mean better. If you want a high powered laser as your first laser, you can severely damage (or even blind) your eyes...

Welcome to the forums, and start with a weaker laser first. Or you WILL hurt yourself. And no one wants that, neither you, neither us.

Thanks. I'm a grown, married man, so I think I understand how to use eye protection well enough to bypass the small stuff and get what I really want.. with that being said, what are your thoughts?

You would definitely want to have one built here they will (if you pick good buyer) be the best quality and price you can get . I could recommend Blord or daguin as good builders for blue. . But first you have to prove you are responsible and safe to the sellers start by reading up on high power blue lasers and you will definitely want to get some safety goggles Do this and you will get along here.

Ps wicked lasers is a very crappy laser site

Yes, avoid wickedlasers. They are known for bad products and bad customer service.

I would go with laserbtb, jetlasers, or a builder here on lpf. Safety goggles are definitely required when using a 1W laser.

not to beat a dead horse, but they have to be specifically laser glasses, with at least OD4 protection from 445nm light. I'd recommend Blord also, as I always do. He could build a dominator with a 9mm diode in it that should hit close to 3W (3000mW) or over for you. this isn't the only host option, just a popular one. I opted for the copper heat sink, but an aluminum one is $100 cheaper. An aluminum dominator I believe runs around $350

if you want to buy a quality laser that is sure to be on spec you should buy from an LPF member. Blord is such a great guy to deal with and his builds are absolute top quality, heres a link for one of his lasers

you can buy a 1watt for only $110 and he offers a variety of powers in the same host, buy from him and other reputable LPF members and you definitely wont be dissapointed :)

MAKE SURE YOU GET APPROPRIATE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES FOR THE APPROPRIATE WAVELENGTH

Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles

YOU ONLY GET ONE PAIR OF EYES

Sorry if I sounded like speaking to a child. No offense!

If you want eye protection, I recommend Eagle Pair, from Survival Laser (usa, int'l). It is cheap (IMO) and protects very well...

Don't use those cheap goggles sold on ebay etc!

And if you want a durable, good laser, have a member build for you. The member built lasers don't look like an arctic anyways, but they are very cool imho... I built one, but unfortunately I don't sell lasers. See my build thread.
