i was contacting her and everything seemed to be going well (she even sent me an invoice) until i asked her if she can guarantee to match her output reading with my laserbee reading... that was when she stopped answering ALL my emails (i sent at least 5 after that) hmmm... maybe her lasers are falsify speced?

Looks good! I was actually planning to MAAAAYBE get their 600mW green laser, maybe in 4 months. Not sure how I'll go, I just trust them for importing to the US with no issues.

Exactly how much brighter is the beam from a 200mw to a 350/400mw? I figured if I was to get another, to make it my last spend ona high power green...and just figured maybe go for the 600mw. You can see its the ONLY laser on their site that says >600mw. The rest say <200mw...<500mw...etc

I guess it´s a mistake :)
Anyway they usually sell their lasers on specs, so If you get lets say laser<400mW, It will be propably 350-410, While laser>600mW 600-650 if it was not a mistake.
Anyway brando said what you needed to know at most - 10% of power change is not visible by your eye. It could be measured in "optic power decibell" - The beam gets twice as stronger or brighter when you increase power output four times. So no there is not big difference between 600mW and much cheaper 400mW one.

I think you are being waaaay to nit-picky and she doesn't want to deal with a ponce. :tsk:

Rayfoss is a fantastic company (IMO). People here are too fast to jump on the hate-bandwagon.

Little harsh dont ya think? I dont care for noobs either, but there is a difference between the morons here to troll, and the people actually trying to get along with other members, both you and I were 'noobs' here once.

Rayfoss has had some great rep around here, and still does IMO as well, however just because its considered a 'discount' site doesnt mean they can get away with selling underspec products, thats what DX does and look what we all think of DX(>20mW). Its acceptable for a site like rayfoss to have some slight differences in power compared to its rating, but if faona gives a customer a power rating, claiming she tested it or had it tested at that output, then oikos should recive that power rating exactly minus a 5mW meter difference, and if rayfoss cant back their statments thats their fault, and considering all the broken and underspec lasers showing up around here from rayfoss, I feel its perfectly acceptable to ask them for a near spec, fully fuctioning unit.
Companies can go bad quickly and without warning, it happens, and when the signs are present, a smart consumer should be cautious even if that caution isnt always accurate.

Maybe it got damaged during shipping somehow...I emailed Rayfoss, and she said they test each lasers output, to make sure it matches what it's stated online. I question about the 600mW, and she said they usually come out 650mW, but are tested to be rated 600mW or more before shipping out. So they do at least check the power ratings. My guess is, it somehow passed but got hurt during shipping. Maybe the FDA dropped it ;) If your in US :D

Sorry it was misread like that. :undecided:
oikos, that comment was not directed at you. It was a general statement directed at the clowns that are bad mouthing a reputable company (Rayfoss) without ever having any actual experience/interaction with them.

Maybe, as jbtm suggested, it might have gotten damaged at the post office.
From everything I have observed, they do stand behind their warranty.

Why would rayfoss go through all the BS of someone demanding guarantees of power output on a cheap laser they probably make like 5 bucks on. If you hassle them too much they will think its not worth it (and its probably not) and also they don't want to risk you defaming them on the forum.

If you want to demand power output, get a wicked laser or optotronics laser. If you want cheap buy rayfoss or o-like, but its cheap for a reason.

You paid $120 to ship it back for repair??? With that kind of money why not just throw out that rayfoss fail and buy a new CNI pen?

I thought that was a typo in your other thread, but I guess not, why would you pay that much to ship it back, either use a standard service like usps international, or just scrap it and buy a CNI....
