Hello,
I received my order from rayfoss today and started to play with my laser.I did obey its duty cycle (60 seconds on 30 seconds off)
I didnt remain it turned on for longer than 30 seconds and always waited for off time.
Anyways I'm sure that i didnt drop the laser or hit it to anywhere.Dont know if its happened during the cargo stage. It came with DHL.When i turn on my laser it outputs lower than 5mw laser.Soon I will upload a video and pictures. Please tell me if its my laser or battery?
Which one causes this problem thanks.
This is the laser www.rayfoss.com

UPDATE:Laser stopped working I can only barely see a infrared dot on the camera when i point to wall.
This is the picture of the infrared dot --->http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac160/alper1987/DSC01709-1.jpg
Edit:I've talked with Faona and informed her that the laser's diode and driver maybe broken. She said that they will repair or replace for free. They have really good customer service and Faona is really helpful and kind person.I really like her.I'd like to thank to everyone who posts to this thread.Hopefully after three weeks I will make a review about my repaired laser. It will include some video, photos and informations.

Could be a discharged batt, charge up your batts and try it. If not, then it sounds like another rayfoss fail to me. Been seeing alot of this happening.

I did it for two times.Dying battery can cause this?
Soon I will add photos.

Yes, if the batt is dead, or even at the end of its life, then it cant get enough power to the driver and the laser dims or dies. But if you tried freshly charged batts, then its probably the laser, Ive been seeing ALOT of rayfoss fails showing up lately. Just browse the green lasers forum, there is about 3 or 4 threads about rayfoss lasers breaking or being underspec...

I hope its the battery.I will get 2x300mah 18650 ultrafire batteries soon.I will try with them.If it still does then the laser.I hope Faona can repair or replace this.I waited 15d days to arrive :(

Hope you get your laser fixed. If you have a multimeter and some resistors measure the battery voltage with a resistor to see what the batteries voltage is under load.

The most tragic was the one where a guy violated the duty cycle...and the symptom looked like cooked crystals...a definite penalty.

I hope he gets a good unit.

Did you test it on an LPM, if not, there is no real way to estimate to output power. That laser could be outputting alot more or less than 5mW.

Aside from trying a known, good battery...it sure does not look good.I know a sharp blow can fatally damage them.Perhaps it took a hit in shipping and when you put the power to it the fracture in the cement spread. It looks like a warranty claim to me(assuming the battery is good).
Definitely let us know how it works out for you.

looks like from the picture that the crystals are maybe misaligned or that is just quite a bit of IR leakage...

Btw I didnt see any scracth or something like that on the host. But it's box was open I think customs checked it.The box of the laser is in good condition too.
