The reason I thought I couldn't find his two different hosts is because they look so similar. One looks like a mini RPL and the othere has the head of the RPL shrunken into the body.

Kendall: Do you have an LPM? Do you have to order batteries for it or are you just going to go to the store and get them? Thanks.

MISTERWILLING, did you recieve either of yours? Do you have an LPM?

I know O-Like sells quality products I just want to make sure Dave's wasn't a fluke. Thanks.

I have mine on order, one or two weeks and I will post my results with beam size. I only have a H-LPM but that should get just up to 200mW with an ND filter. If I can't get good power results with my meter I will ask Larry DFW to help because he has an awesome meter.

Yes I have a LPM. I finished that laser and it is pretty decent on the power. Not quite 200mW.

This is first test with a slightly new battery, maybe 1 minute run time on it.
It will spike up to 173mW when first turned on then go down to between 130-150mW. seemed to average right around 145mW.

this is 2nd test with brand new battery. (using 16340 3.6V Li-ion and Ehgemus's aluminum host).

pretty much same results. max is 174.2mW
average is 146.2 mW

thanks,

Not quite 200mW. pretty much same results. max is 174.2mW average is 146.2 mW...

and these stats are with IR (usually ~17%) I take it? Sounds relatively similar to my results with my O-Like 150mW module.

As I stated above, Dave gets golden samples... In O-Like's defense, what seller wouldn't be selective with one of the VIPs @LPF?

Too bad you can't overclock modules like cpus, lol. Who knows, maybe after a few years, their production quality will increase to the point that they will be forced to turn down the pots on their 50, 100, 150mW modules, hehe

Then we can return to the days when "pot-modding" could actually give you a more powerful laser without significantly shortening its life.

Peace,
dave

Wow, this module didn't do much better than their 130-150mW. And with a 3V battery it would have been even lower. And the modules still aren't in stock. I wonder if the modules that will soon (hopefully) be back in stock will be any different than the ones tested.

Really? I will have to keep a closer eye on them. What days did they go back in stock? I've tried to check every day.

Nothing yet MISTERWILLING? Can you just PM me when you post the results? Are you going to post them in this thread or start a new one? Thanks.

The modules arrived very very promptly after she said she shipped them, they are still at the post office because they required signature confirmation. I will post here when I have them in hand and tested.

I recived mine within 10 days. It was shipped in sealed vaccumed ESD packaging. It was very clean, finaly an item from china that looks like I was the first one to open and touch it! I do not have a LPM but the beam is visible in a well-lit room. I am impressed how strait the beam comes out of the module. On some cheep greens the beam comes out at a slight angle. Quality is great.

ZOMG!!!! The suspense is killing me! I'm going to go to your P/O, take them and hand deliver them to you. Your review will pretty much determine if these modules are worth anything. Dave's was 190mW average, Kendall's was 145mW average, WTF? Oh yeah, what's an ND filter and how will it affect the readout of the modules? Thanks.
