Check out the datasheet. It's an engineering sample dated Nov. 30. They are going to be out soon!

Oh boy. I have been away too long. 520nm should be useful in projectors so hopefully these will eventually drop to a reasonable price.

Any news on this?
I mean, the 520nm diodes?

Question for the initiated:

What would be a suitable driver and power source for these?

BTW: I cant wait to put this diode into my silver RPL !!!

Re: New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode

DTR said to me in an e-mail that he wouldn't go near these diodes until the price got reasonable. Here's to hoping this means that it has!

Their forward voltage and current is nothing special, about the same as the 445nm diodes, so most drivers should work.

Re: New Nichia 9mm 1W 520nm diode

O-like lowered the price to $720 on their site. Also techhood now has two listings on ebay, the "cheapest one" calls the diode NDG7475T.

How do I edit the topic title to add the diode's name?

Yeah, that sucks. I've seen other sellers doing that as well :/ Do you have the real datasheet yet?

Nope just the top portion you see there. I think that was all that was passed along form the main source.

If that is the divergence figures of the PL520 you would expect better from O-Like as someone buys that expecting a single mode type beam profile and get a line style output they may be a tad disappointed but they also have fake G-2's they are selling. Can't trust anyone these days. Maybe that is why they no longer have paypal support. Probably either got cut off or did not want to have to deal with the buyer protection.
