So within the past year i have showed interest in green lasers. So far i have bought 2 cheap ones from ebay (i know). then i decided to spend more money and get a better laser. I bought one from highlasers.com it is a Bombard Series 532nm 80mW Green Laser Pointer i dont know what it acctually puts out but it pops balloons, light matches, lights fireworks, burns electrical tape. I was really impressed with this laser. So one day i was showing off its capability to a friend and was lighting fireworks, when the fuse ignited the sparks shot into the laser and burnt the lens:cryyy:. Now i am looking into getting a new laser and have been looking into gettin a 100mW green laser from rayfoss.com and i would like yalls opinion on which one i should get. thanks

You should pick you nickname more wisely...

Anyhow, Rayfoss and O-like are of most respectfull sellers here.
You should have no trouble purchasing from them (personally I prefer O-like, you can even chat with Susie , their customer support operator on MSN )

It is a shame you burned the lens. Have you tried cleaning them?
Can I have a picture of the laser from the front, maybe it can be (at least partially) dissasembled and provide access to lens, hopefully to clean it?

Oh, and BTW,
WELCOME
to the forum!

Don't forget to read through stickied topics, and go through the FAQ, it will solve most , if not all, of your first questions you have about lasers!

Enjoy your time here!

EDIT: Damn, photo beat me to it :D

It does not offend anyone, it just represents a bad image of yourself...

How did you got that nickname, if I may ask? :D

The glass lens purchased from jay ..., which ones?
Unless it is specially coated for green light, and made for a green laser, it is not going to work just like that.
You should try cleaning the original lens anyhow.

wow... maybe a different username

Read the thread you are posting in, please...

you just lost me there.....

"retarded kid" can be potentially offensive to anyone with a handicap family member.

Mental retardation is a generalized disorder, characterized by significantly impaired cognitive functioning and deficits in two or more adaptive behaviors

I have a 16 year old (She's since been adopted by her step father, that's why I don't really speak of her on the forum, trying to put that behind me) who operates at the level of a 12 year old, so if I wanted to take offense, I could.

I agree! Retarded is such a ugly word.
But hey, If that's how you want to be viewed by the world, (and judged by families of mentally handicapped children), that's your prerogative.

As far as your lens goes, if you can gain access to it, you can probably clean/buff most of the damage off of it. I can't see a firework spark at a distance causing that deep of a scar. Probably most of it is just chemical residue.
Be forewarned although, some of the cheap Chinese lasers are almost impossible to disassemble without destroying the host.(body/case)
I've heard Teflon Tape works good to clean lenses. Try to put a peice of it on a small soft plastic stick and gently rubbing the lens.
Good luck.
