it barely makes a difference. when i took the laser out of the package i assumed there was a battery in it because of the weight, so i clicked the button, but it didnt turn on. i opened it to find there was no battery, so i put one it, still felt the same weight.
that made it sound like it's a heavy laser, no it's not, but the weight feels about the same with the battery in it.

btw i modified that last post so now its 35% friendlier towards sleepy eyes haha.

well so far this one isnt like those other ones. the NewWish ones were built too cheaply. I think you will like it, its very bright.

Does anyone else actually make money reselling dx lasers?  I recently sold a new dx30 to someone for $50 lol.
yeah my boss bought my modified DX true 30 from me for 60 euro I told him to just order one but he didn't want to wait I also warned him that I had no idea how long it would last running at 4.5 volts but he still bought it off me. Been a couple of weeks and its still going strong. Yesterday he told me he will mount it on his hunting rifle, I think we will say goodbye to his new toy after the first shot.

I'm confused, if this laser is as bright or brighter than the DX true 30 shouldn't it be able to pop balloons just as I've seen with the DX True 30? Someone (I've forgotten who) tested the DX True 30 and it was at spec and only put out something like 3 mw of IR, which wouldn't be enough to make the difference in popping a balloon would it? Or are the DX True 30's I've heard about popping balloons just overpowered units?
Sorry for all the questions I'm pretty clueless.

Mine when shone through a lens has an elliptical shape, and when it gets warms mode hops. However, seeing as this wasn't a burner in the first place im not worried about it.

I received mine today and have no CR123 batteries handy, so I used a cr2 (Dollarama in canada has them for $1) and some tinfoil as a spacer.
The sticker that shipped with mine says the output is <20mw. I was wondering what the sticker your laser came with said? I assume that the output is the same (30mw) and the sticker is wrong. Has anyone tested this lasers output?

They should say 30mw. You shouldn't worry too much about the sticker because it was probably just a labeling mistake. I think some guy on this forum tested one and it peaked at around 40mw.
