I thought an infrared filter just blocked infrared light altogether :-/ WarezWally, you said you received it in seven days in your review. Was that with the free mail or did you choose express and take the risk?

That was with free option (registered international), normally it takes a few weeks but this one was fast.

So this one won't pop balloons since there is an IR filter? I'm still deciding if I should buy this one or the dx true 30 one.

Are you the one review on dealextreme?[/quote]

yes, photos on my site

I just compared 2 batteries on dx and here are the dimensions.
Ultrafire: 1.42 in x 0.63 in x 0.63 in
Trustfire: 1.34 in x 0.63 in x 0.63 in
Looks like the trustfire ones are a bit shorter, maybe that's why you can't close your laser all the way.

Sure no ir lessens the burning power. But in a good laser you shouldn't depend on ir to do the burning. The green can burn just as well and it collimates better. By the way, i ordered a charger, two sets of two trustfire cr123 protected cells. (glad i did too seeing as the dimensions are smaller) and the romisen 30mW laser last night and it has already shipped!

i heard of someone recharging primaries with a charger when its on the 3volt setting. He's recharged the same battery 5 times without ill effect.

Sounds like a good idea until they blow up and set your house on fire. The rechargeable lithiums cost like $1 more on dx.......

Yeah i wasn't about to try it. I probably shouldn't have said anything, i know better. I regularly fly rc helis which use lithium polymer batteries which are even more dangerous than lithium ion and i only use a balance charger. Why are all my hobbies expensive? :-/
