Hey Guys,
Just wanted to do a review on the DX 50mW module.
Heres link:DealExtreme: $16.43 50mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm)
So first impressions.
Pros
The lasers is super bright actually a little scary how bright it is with out safety goggles.
The beam about (1-2 feet coming out of the module looks like a spider web its so thin.
Pop balloons with ease within 5 feet otherwise needs to be focused better.
It slices electrical tape
Cons
Packing was horrible, it was in a little plastic baggie in a padded envelope.
Pretty bad focusing but that can be adjusted. Dots is about 2cm at 30 feet
Something really weird happened well first i was cutting some tape and all the sudden it went dim so i turned it off and back on and it looked like it was 5 mw so I was like dam just burnt out. So i left it off for about 5 min then came back and I turned it on and it was back to full power. Weird?
So the build i have it in is just a project box couldn't find a host for it yet.
I had the box set up really nicely with a CR123 in it but my battery died. So just temporarily I am using 2 AA's on top it kinda looks retarded but once I have my CR123 It will look nice.
