This was giong to be sort of a review of my new 200mW Transformable 532nm laser from O-Like. But instead, it's a "I wish I had more power / the foresight to buy the bigger laser the first time" / (& I love O-Like thread).

I love the thing, but it's only 179mW unfiltered and 130mW filtered.
I'm not sure if that's good, bad, or inbetween but I love it and I'm not returning it - that's for sure. It has a very tight & clean beam, but the host is about as unremarkable as a plastic bag from Safeway. But it seems to be solidly put together.Even though I don't particularly trust the side clickies for their longevity.. long storey...

So now I think I want the 400mW - perhaps, the 450... And well, I deserve it - just bought the wife a used mini cooper she wanted... That's fair ---right?
I know it's totally subjective but - are these worth it for the money - or should I apttempt to build mah own? I'm purdy sure that's a bad idea.
(go team!)

If you do buy the 400mW from O-like, make sure you mention to her that you have an LPM and you will know if it is underspec. She's usually good about giving on-spec or over, but let her know you will be testing it.

Will do...I know on the 200mW one I said something about being on LPF & having an LPM but I wasn't really to the point about it. (that seems to be my lifelong issue). I think my ebay experience with the last seller I dealt with had me a bit shell shocked.

- in fact there was an issue with pay pal thinking my account was compromized, and that delayed payment at first.
I'm using AT&T on this laptop and they route their cell traffic all over the USA which was making Paypal think I was all of a sudden in Texas!

Anyway, It just takes so long for anything to get here from China that next time I will get to the point!

I've heard though that others' 200mW lasers are also falling into the 180mW range if I recall?

I have the 200mW transformable. It stabilizes at around 160mW, highest it ever peaked was ~180mW... but of course unfiltered.

Personally I wouldn't attempt a green build.

Yeah for greens, anything more in depth than putting a module in a host is not worth the trouble. Unless you have the precise alignment tools to align the crystals and everything. But that's not realistic.
