Need a new module 532nm Quick Question

I bought a 100mw green pointer from a builder on here a couple years ago, and one of the modules isn't working correctly, if you shake it the pointer will work intermittently, and not at all sometimes. I need a new module and was thinking of getting a more powerful 200mw module. I was wondering if they are the same physical size, and if they would take the same power supply. The host I have takes 1 CR123 battery.

With all that being said, whats the best place to buy a ready to go module with driver that I can just swap out. I seen a couple on eBay but not sure if I want to buy one from there since they are coming from China and I'm screwed if I need to return it.

I can post pictures of the host and current module if need, and sizes also. A quick response would be appreciated, thanks!

You could try to adjust the Laser Crystal inside, but by cheap Modules this may not work.

Yeah I am assuming it is a cheap module.

Anyone else have any input? I'm not looking to try and fix the module, I would just like to buy a new one and need some guidance.

I wouldn't attempt to align the crystals by hand. Even a fraction of a nanometer will literally throw off the beam.

You will also find if you go to a 200mW module and it does fit your going to with a sInge battery of that type cr123 (16340) it will go flat very fast or at least the brightness will drop off quickly like about 10 to 15 minutes i did a similar modification if you can cope will charging all the time well go for it, just a heads up on the battery life aspect

Alright so to go bigger then I would need an upgraded battery? What is the best place to get a ready made 100mw module then?

I myself would rather have the higher output and have a few batteries ready, as to where good question there's a lot of laser sites on fleabay that sell real 100 mW and 200mW laser modules of flea bay a Google search is as good as any other way, make sure size fits obviously ...stay the course 200mW is better even if you need to change batteries often i just wanted you to be aware no such thing as a free lunch ,a candle that burns twice as bright only lights half as long
