If you want a good, cheap laser for burning get a red 200mW dilda from dealextreme.com. A 50mW green is more than enough for a great beam visibility :)

Dilda: DealExtreme: $27.40 High-Power 200mW Red Laser Pen (Burns Match + Visible Beam Daytime)

EDIT: If your absolutely sure you want a good burning GREEN then get one from NovaLasers.com their lasers are top-noch quality CNI lasers and atm they sell them -70%!

the 200mw green laser may be invailable for US user, for the regulations enforced by the US FDA. They would detain the unsate laser.

yes, it was metered for free, I actually just got it friday but was camping this weekend so didn't have time to take pictures and stuff.

Its awesome, burns holes in bags, leaves, etc I tried it out on my palm last night haha (that hurt)

One issue that keeps popping up is occasionally the beam splits and instead of 1 dot there are 2 very close to eachother.. i haven't figured out if this problem weakens the strength of the laser or not though

Usually this means that one of the internal lenses or crystals are loose.

The issue you are having is called mode hopping. It hapens with low quality lasers. You can do some reasearch in the forums on it. There is alot of info you can read about it :)

Still looking forward to some photos :)
