Hey guys, long time no post ;)
Anyway, I emailed a supplier probably 2 years ago about a diode, and they finally got back to me and sent me a list of diodes that were surprisingly very cheap($24 for a 7875!). Among this quote were some that i had never heard of such as the NDG7K75T. Looking this up, it appears to be rated at 525nm on nichi@$ website but I couldn't find any info on it here. They're offering it to me for $175, and seeing the price of other greens, that seems pretty good. Anyway I was wondering your guys's thoughts on this.

To me it would seem kinda silly to pay $175 for 525nm unless you really need it for the wavelength itself. The color wouldn't be much different from having both 520nm & 532nm side by side. Just my view on it. Perhaps some people will like it :)

Excellent find! Could you list the diodes and prices?
Seems like we're finding a lot of diodes are getting cheaper? Coincidence... or is it my influence?!

Sure, I even made a spreadsheet trying to compare their prices with dtr if you'd like to see it, as for their prices

This is our quotation of laser diode:
1). NDB7875 Nichia 445nm 1.6w TO5-9mm: USD 24/piece
2). NDB7675 Nihcia 462nm 1.4w TO5-9mm: USD 52/piece
3). NUBM05 Nichia 455nm 3.75w TO5-9mm: USD 56/piece
4). NDG7K75T Nichia 520nm 1w TO5-9mm: USD 175/piece
5) NUGM01T Nichia 520nm 8w laser array: USD 830/piece (8pieces 520nm 1w)
6). NDB7A75 Nichia 445nm 3.5w TO5-9mm: USD 90/piece
7). HL63193MG Oclaro 638nm 700mw TO18-5.6mm: USD 16/piece
8). Sharp 638nm 180mw laser diode TO18-5.6mm: USD 15/piece
9). Osram PL450B 450nm 80mw 5.6mm : USD 15/piece
10). PLTB450B Osram 450nm 1.6w 5.6mm: USD 18/piece
11). Mitsu P73 638nm 500mw 5.6mm: USD 17/piece
12). HL63603TG Opnext 638nm 120mw : USD 13.5/piece
13). Nichia M140 445nm 2w 5.6mm: USD 26/piece

Interesting. I guess we may have price drops soon!
Looks like they have NUBM05 too, some folks have been looking for those.

Who's the supplier?

I honestly can't remember, but they go by Dora of Fangyi Industry Co., Ltd.

I was considering doing some sort of gb for some of these, or even just ordering some for other people(they said the moq was 5 but that they would budge if more other ones were purchased)

I'd wait on a GB, at least until Jordan weighs in. Pretty interested in the 05 - it might be possible to get more power than from the 44! 7k75t seems interesting too, we might be able to push it to 530.

Only time (and money :na:) will tell!

Cool, 525nm is almost right in between 532nm DPSS and 520nm direct diode. Not sure how valuable that wavelength would be, but I would probably stick with the 520nm unless there's noticeable benefits of this new 525nm diode (divergence, efficiency etc).

Well, my 7475 is a freak diode that gets around 525nm, and it's an absolutely pure green. No blue or yellow tint whatsoever. Perhaps 525nm has some use in projectors?

525? Isn't that diode marked at 520nm?

Yeah. But mine is an unusual diode with slightly higher wavelength. In conjunction with wavelength-pushing it gets a color VERY different from other 520s. My diffraction grating agrees. :D

It's also a thing called time, it has a tendency to do strange things to laser diode prices.:shhh::evil:

If the diode's specs are not any worse than the other diode greens it likely might be useful in projectors. I think I've heard that with the 520nm diode in projectors there isn't as nice of a yellow as with 532nm (although 520nm has a better blue/green IIRC). 525nm might give a better balance between the 520nm and 532nm.

And of course it would be special for us wavelength collectors.

If there is a GB I'll gladly go for one of the 1W 525nms :D
