I ordered 3 days ago, and it arrived today ! By TNT.

But i am a little angry to NovaLasers, because they never respond to my email :-[

I told them not to write above 90 $ on invoice, because here in Turkey if something's value is higher than 90 $ thew want too much tax, and takes too much time, and lost of stupid th[ch351]ngs to do.

Anyway, although they wrote the real value, it passed through customs.

I wanna thank Razako for telling me to buy from Nova, the laser is really great...
And to IgorT, who helped me a lot about lasers.
And everyone here.

Here is the photo of my great laser ! [smiley=laugh.gif]

I think i will sleep with it tonight. :D

I ordered X125 with lens holder ( came with 2 different lenses ) and 3 octagon pieces.

I can not post a review because i forgot to order googles, when they come i can make a detailed review.

Anyway, i used several lasers till now, but this is the best one. Its body is excellent unlike the others sold at DX or KAI, power is perfect, you can see the beam in the day also, at night it is wonderful when i point at sky, and goes much longer than 200 mw DX. It stings my skin so much.

Finally, everything positive, except price. The price is high, but cheaper than dragonlasers ( same lasers with Nova ).

I suggest you buy X125, i would buy X100 but i wasnt in stock. So i had to buy X125. And also i suggest you buying sport googles, lens holder with optics, and mega matrix or such thing.

Hey, beachbumbora..

What are your peak and average powers? Usually, that's the first thing, that's mentioned.. :)

I have time tunnel and mega matrix. Time tunnel is pretty cool looking, but let me tell you, mega matrix is AWESOME. I really think everyone should have the mega matrix DG, thats how cool it is.

Oh, I also have that lens kit. But, I dont have any lens holder at all so I cant really play with them. I need to buy a holder, it would be really nice if I could find one that fits the alpha series, but I dont think they make them.

Peak output power 134.5 mW
Av output power 130.1 mW

What do these mean ?

By the way, thank you GooeyGus, i am happy that i ordered mega matrix. :)

Green lasers work a little different, than red diode lasers.

With greens, an IR diode is pumping some special crystals, which turn IR into green in two steps (look up DPSS laser). Those crystals can be very efficient at the right temperature, and sometimes, they can even be efficent over a wide temperature range, but it depends on the quality.

No two crystals are exactly the same, so when the manufacturer builds a laser, they don't know how powerfull it will be, untill it's done. After it's done, they just measure them, and sort them into the correct power range.

But even then, there are small or large variances in power.

The above numbers mean, that when you turn your laser on, the max power it climbs to is 134.5mW, and the average power over 30 seconds is 130.1mW.

The power can go up at first, till it reaches the peak, and then go down, till it goes below average, as the laser heats up. Some lasers even climb in power as they heat up. But the average of all powers measured during 30 seconds is 130.1mW with your laser.

There is not too much difference between the peak and the average on yours, so it should be quite stable.

Lower quality lasers, like the DX200 for example can peak at up to 240mW but quickly drop to 100mW or even less, as they heat up. And their power and stability are much less inconsistent. But if the manufacturer would start throwing all the bad ones away, the laser would cost much more. As it is, they just sell them, and if someone returns them, and it's not too bad, they simply try to sell it to someone else.

Great explanation, thanks.

Haha ok! ;D

Mine can light matches like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-9vdIGSY-g

If take a white paper and put a small black dot with a sharpie, I can make it burn through and start to glow. Then I just need to keep the ember alive with the laser, so I can cut out large pieces of it.
I don't have a video on that.

Pictures:
Lasing at the moon, with extra exposure (don't worry all, I know my area). The air is so clean it this shot.

Straight up in the fog, normal exposure.

With blu (ignore that) and some smoke from a few matches.

All I can say is that the beam is definitely visible at night. And I haven't tried it with some really good batteries yet.

Beachbumbora, I'm sorry for hijacking your thread. :-[
