Well, I finally got a green lab-type laser (been wanting one for sometime, as all I currently have are a couple pointers with a duty cycle, one of which I have just sold - I want something that can stay on for a while...), and after a bunch of grief with getting it shipped to me (too long to explain but most of the problems not the seller's fault + he has said he will refund shipping), it has finally arrived.
I saw this laser on Ebay, had seen the seller offer these of varying power for many months, and finally he put a couple on sale. The seller had great feedback and was in the US, so I took the plunge and bought a 350mw unit which the seller claims tested at a peak of 405mw and average at 372mw. Says he has two different types of power meters to confirm the results.
Anyway, I got it today and fired it up. Well, not having a meter of my own, I can't verify the seller's claims but I do know that it instantly lit a red-tipped match and burned a hole thru a black plastic food tray (like the kind you get at takeout places) in about 3 seconds. It's visually a good bit brighter than my 125mw CNI and my 131mw blue laser. Divergence isn't as good as the CNI, but not bad either.
Here are a couple preliminary pics - will be making a video in the next few days and better pics. I'm going to put it on the back porch and see if my roommate can light a cigarette with it (no smoking in the house!).
