hi. im completely new to this forum (and this is my second laser)

my first lasr was proverly like 0.3 mW or something.

i was wondering if my laser is really 1mW

reasons:
1. its a class IIIa
2.the beam is visible in low light without fog or anything!
3.

Lasers i have:
532nm: 1mw? Laser Pointer

Where'd you get it? Most cheap 1mw greens are overspec to some degree. From what you've described it as it sounds like a 5-10mw green one.
Cheaper to produce, you see. Easier to manufacture 15mw modules and market them as 1mw, 5mw, 10mw, 15mw and 20mw even though they're all 15mw.
Are you sure your first one was 0.3mw? That's pretty low powered, and even the dollar red ones are 1-5mw.

If the beam is visible, it's probably more like 50mW. Welcome to the wonderful world of wonderfully
overspec Chinese lasers.

Well, as with the others have said it is most likely indeed 5-50mW(somewhere in that range).

What I am curious about is....why is it listed as Class IIIa if it's 1mW :D

Silver cap, rubberized black body? Ebay? Something like that? I have a "5mW" one that's putting out 86mW. And 3x that in IR. Good times.

What more do you want. No, it's not what it says it is.

Well I can just tell by what you mention on the "Warning Label"

Class IIIa= 1mW>

NOT 1mW= Class IIIa
