oh hey, didnt see you there
my name is nav321 and well, im in need of a bit of help
and what better place to get help for my laser needs than laserpointer forums? am i right?

okay anyway, i have read "the guide to buying your first green laser" and it answered most of my questions but it didnt tell me one thing i wanted to know...

i would really like to equip myself with a handheld (portable) green laser pointer that is capable of going very long distances and being able to see the beam and everything, i could really care less about the burning part, like i said, i just want a handheld (portable) green laser pointer that (at night or even sundown) i can clearly see the beam and i can point it at very far away objects and i dont really care about burning stuff.

i was really looking into this rayfoss laser:
www.rayfoss.com

(it is the RF532-200mW-FLX )

and i wound say my budget is about $150 (not including shipping and tax)

:thanks:

I'm pretty sure that page you've said you read addresses visibility, a couple times. I think it links to a youtube video discussing what different powers will do. I believe it also gives some info about over 50mW greens being visible at night.

Regardless, to actually answer your question -

200mW Green 532nm Lasers should be in the situation you've described. But you have to ACTUALLY HAVE a 200mW green laser. I believe the consensus around here is that Rayfoss is generally pretty good in terms of being up to spec (someone with more experience, please correct me if I'm wrong)

yeah i do know what you mean with the whole spec thing
thats why i chose rayfoss, cuz most people said they are up to spec
and it is really important for it to be up to spec because i do not have anything to measure the lasers power with

I can't speak for Rayfoss but have a few Optos and highly value them. Check out this one, Optotronics is located in the U.S.A. and I think it fits your needs.
