I for one have no urge to lase planes. It endangers the lives of everyone on board and anyone where the plane could go down, it's reckless and stupid.

imagine the pilot while landing or taking off who got hurt for got his retina burnt is some one close to you dearly.

Or imagine, you put the lives of a hundred in danger just by burning the retina of the main pilot.

Owning high powered lasers is a responsibility. One has to be considerate for using such lasers.

If this happens frequently then it is just matter of time that the government will take serious action about it. That will be the end for laserhobbyist. :(

I see retards with lasers all the time.

A few days ago I was at a party and some retard shone a green laser all across the audience.
Good thing I turned my head away as soon as I saw the beam.

And a few weeks ago, some retard was shining at cars, also with a greenie.

It all comes down to one point, people like this ruin the hobby for everyone else.

However, I doubt if the gov. is going to do anything about this, they are already illegal to import in most countries.

There is a guy who sells Dx lasers on the Wild-wood crest boardwalk for like $50. Greenies aswell. One "kid" (13-14) shined it down at me and some friends from 8 stories up. Needless to say the hotel got a visit from the police a few minutes later.

This really pisses me off. I think if you are stupid enough to shine a laser of any kind at an aircraft, shine it in your own eyes, and see if you like it.

Maybe what laser manuacfturers can do is to slap an authorisation form.

Singapore, it is even illegal to owned even a survival knife. It cannot be sold, but as long as you can produce your identity card, and prove you are over 21 years old, get the local police to create a licence account, , and produce it to the shop owner, he can sell it to you. That way, the knife will not be banned, and if anything happens, the shop will not be held liable. The most, the police will persecute the person who uses it (for hurting other people intentionally or unintentionally). At the police Station, the buyer will also have to go through a list of do's and don'ts and penalty charges if things do happened, and counter-sign for agreement.

my suggestion maybe how we can continue to enjoy lasers without the government banning it.

I doubt it, the govt. probably has something better on it's mind now than lasers.

I just feel like i should mention that is is next to impossible to actually hit a pilot in the eye with a laser.

Just think about it. You on the ground and plane way up above you. The cockpit window is on the top of the plane not the bottom.

The only circumstance where this could happen is if the plane is taking off/landing and you are stand on a mountain or in a building so that you are higher up than the plane. Here in West Virginia there is one airport with a mountain right in front of it where this could happen.

But now nobody would want to even do it, where is the fun in hitting a plane that is just sitting there? Not to say that it would be fun but you get the idea.

Im not promoting the shining of laser at planes, It is a felony (and there is always the chance that a highly reflective ufo is perched just above the plane having the shape of a parabolic mirror so that the effects of the lasers divergence are removed and the laser bounces right into the pilots eyes at a perfect focus instantly blinding him and the copilot is in the bathroom, so the plane crashes and 100's of people die. You wouldn't want that on your head.) Im just saying that blinding anybody would be very hard to do.

So long as the 13 year olds that stand in the mall with a <5mw red laser and shine on random people dont get a hold of anything we will be fine.
