At night? Friggin bright! The beam is so much more visable than the 5mW and the dot projected on a house a mile away? OMG!!! I might need some of those cheesy orange laser glasses when I use this puppy inside. Even looking near the bright dot inside gives me an instant headache. But a fun one:D

I bought some Duracell's and tossed the batteries I found in a remote and what a difference. I want to buy rechargables but all of them say 1.2v and not 1.5v like the throw-aways. Is 1.2v per battery ok for the chargies or stay with disposable ones?

Hallucynogenyc, thanks for the tip. I don't have another $99 yet but I still have the LED Shoppe 50mW coming so I'll be able to compare em side by side.

Welcome to LPF. I live in Manchester, TN ( Near Murfreesboro ). I was in Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg last weekend. Beautiful place. I bought a 160mW green Optotronics laser from a member here. Can't wait to test it out. Next time I come to the Smokies I'll bring it with me.

1.2v's will work just fine. Duracell 1.5v batteries will sag down to 1.2v within a few minutes of being under load anyway.

Heck your only 160 miles away. With your 160mW and my 50mW we may just be able to cross beams. Can't you see 7 states from Rock City? Next time you're there at night;) shoot a beam east and I'll look for it.

You better sell the opto pointer, since it will be just the same as the ledshope one, let's say for 60$ and then add 30$ and get your amazing light saber ;)

Seriously--->FOR SALE---> My brand new Optotronics 50mW:D:D $65 including shipping in the CONUS.

Does Rayfoss offer to send another pointer if customs snatches the 1st one? Also, are their pointers of good quality? Don't want to spend that kinda money for it to crap out after some use.

trust me, the 150mW waterproof green torch is awesome. I've had it on my hands and it just rocks. Also, the beam diameter is surprisingly thin and it burn's pretty well :D

Open a thread on the buy/trade/sell section better ;)
