Hey guys im new here and would like to say hi to you all. I purchased my first green laser from laserglow, model Lyra C5. I looked all around these forums for a review and even details about this specific laser and couldnt find anything on it. So when i recieve my laser i will go ahead and post some pics and talk about it briefly and how i like it. I chose laserglow because their website really convinced me and i want a quality product that will last me. I cant wait to get this laser! If you guys know anything about this specific laser go ahead and let me know. Thanks!

You made a great decision to go with LaserGlow!  ;) instead of spending $80 (including shipping) on a lower quality core from wickedlasers. ;D

my core was free, so I can't really complain!

Low quality? I have a CORE and it's awesome quality! Works perfectly and I've never had any problems with it.

But LaserGlow is great as well, they have more features :)

Good choice, and welcome!
My first laser was a LaserGlow Galileo, and I was pretty impressed.
I've always wanted the Lyra C.
If you don't like it, you can give it to me. :p

My first (green, from a company) laser was a Galileo too! I recently took it apart, but it was a nice laser while it lasted!

I think I have a Lyra F-5 in the mail, though

Well LaserGlow must be good, because my Galileo has never mode hopped, even after I dropped the module onto a hardwood floor from 4 feet, stuck it in a freezer for 5 minutes, and blew the diode. That thing is durable... it still outputs >1mW with a burned up pump diode :p. It used to output ~50mW.

Now the body is gonna be retrofitted with the guts of an X105... maybe soon...
LaserGlow sells good stuff, but I hardly ever see reviews of their products. It's nice to see someone go with something other than DX crap.

The CORE is the best 5mW laser pointer out there... As far as I know anyhow. But. Its not worth $81.99 (If fact, no 5mW green laser pointer is) Unless its a HeNe, or if it lasts for ever.

mine mode hopes when its hot and there isn't any charge in the batteries so, it is not a problem... all of you are right, the core is a very good laser! But if i had a choice (to get them for free, of course :p) I would probably get the Lyra-C 5... I'm just saying that Laserglow will be one bit better than wicked will ever be. ;)

The LeadLights are the best for 5mw, and that is what they tried to compete with; there is a review around here somewhere that has both the leadlight & the core torn apart, LeadLight wins hands down.
