low power - high duty cycle?

What are some options for a low power (5mW), high duty cycle (100%?) green laser? It does not need to be hand held or portable. Side view of the beam is important but I can enhance it with fog. I was thinking about building a game where kids avoid tripping a laser beam. If you trip the beam it goes off so the chance of getting hit in the eye is minimized, I would have probably one beam and use mirrors to provide multiple trip points. It will not be a commercial game. Anyone have a recommendation?

Sorry! USA. Did you have a specific recommendation for a high duty cycle laser?

IIRC all pen style greens need a duty/rest cycle (although a slip-on heatsink for them is available but I am not sure how well they work)- but the 'bottle shape' 5mWs if the makers are correct, do not. downside is the more expensive battery-CR2- VS. AAAs----also you should invest in $7 a pair green laser glasses from members here or Focalprice. $ spent on eye safety is ALWAYS a good investment. Green beam seems to show up better with less fog/smoke than any other color.---have fun- use the search-OFTEN and don't forget that kids often 'do the darndest things'- the temptation to 'play' with a laser(like a gun) is great!!--hakzaw1(Len)................ps Where is your intro post in the Welcome forum??plz tell us about y'self. PM me if you need FS Mirrors for your project.

I don't care about battery life or being hand held. It will be connected to an AC power supply anyway. It will be mounted on the wall so any size is ok. I hadn't got to the mirror yet but are FS mirrors a necessity?

I would recommend a higher power green module from O-Like...like this 30mW..

green laser module 30mW£*>5¡«500mW green laser module£*>Laser&lighting products£*>www.0-like.com

Then use a variable supply to lower the required drive voltage specified until
you have your 5mW...
The crystals and Pump diode could then be run continuously at the lower current.

SF mirrors a not required for a simple setup... If you see that you have too many
secondary reflected Laser beams then use FS mirrors..

Nice! I'mm ordering one right now!

Thanks Jerry! I'll bet the FS mirrors would really make it look nice though.
