well after being away from everything for a few months and comming back, i like what i see on DX, but i dont know how powerful any of these are. i see a 50mw and a 80mw! how well is the 80mw's IR filter? I also like the fact teh 80mw is rechargeable!

EDIT: so in the comments under the 80mW laser, they say they got an email back from DX, and he said "DX has replied to my email. This is not a true 80mW laser, and does not have an IR filter." he also said "Basically they just said that it was not guaranteed to be 80mW. It's probably at least 50, though, so you didn't get totally ripped off. As for the IR filter, you just have to be more careful of instal an IR filtering lens."

hmm yeah they seem to have alot of new lasers in now, but they still look kinda shoddy to me, so i'm going to wait for a review/test before i buy it.

to me the  90mW UltraFire looks promising, but who knows, maybe the cheap looking design of the rechargable 80mW is actually very strong.
yep, wel just have to wait for a review.

I think the main problem is that quality varies greatly between individual lasers sold at DX, so you'd need to see a couple of reviews before making up your mind. At least a couple of tests with a power meter would be very useful.

About the rechargeable thing:  I guess the 90 mW will run of rechargeable 123's right? Perhaps it will require adding a diode to overcome the 3.6/3.0V issue if it has a bad driver, but that should be doable. The 20 mW seems to be able to run off a 3.6v as is though: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5785

no no, the 80mW is the rechargable one. the 90mW runs on batteries. i just hope someone reviews the 80 soon. cuz basicly, i wanna get the 80, but if its no good then ill get the 90.

I don't like how those flash light style lasers use a strange 3v battery but since it's 3v it should be possible to make 2 AA batteries work with it but an adaptor would have to be made.

but see what i like about this rechargable one, is that you dont need to worry about batteries anymore, because it's rechargable. i think thats pretty cool.
and i really dont mind the fact it uses these different batteries, im willing to change if it's in a much stronger and better case.

Does not look like the 80mw rechargeable laser torch has an IR filter so its most likely 30mw of 532 and 50mw of IR.

and compared to the true 50mW how good is this? will it burn things well?
