Hello from Germany, its my first threat here :)
Please excause me for my bad english...

After I bought some flashlights from Hong Kong I thought I need a laser pointer.
But there are so many laserpointers on DX, Kaidomain and the other websides, that i don't know which one i should choose.

I have rechargable 18650 Batteries and CR123 Batteries here. It would be nice if the laser pointer could use them, too.
The laser should be green with 100-200mW.
But here is the little problem: I only have a budget around 50$.
I read that many of the cheap laser pointers which sould have 200mW only have 50-100mW.

www.laserpointerpro.com has many laserpointer for 50 bucks.
Is the side trustfull?

Can you give me an advise for a good laser pointer at this price?

Hmm, its a blue laser.
I'm realy a noob at lasers. I thought a blue laser isn't as strong as a green one.

Does the laser realy have 200mW?

EDIT: Its no problem when the laser is a bit bigger. Flashlightstyle is ok.
When it looks like a flashlight it should be easier to get it through the customs.

It s he same power (assuming the DX is overrated) as the green one I mentioned. The reason I say that is because lazerer is usually on spec while I doubt that DX is. They should both have the same power but the green one will be much more visibile If the laser looks like a flashlight then that's fine. About it getting through customs I'm not sure you ll have to check if it's legal or not then make a choice wether you want to try buying it or not.

This could help give you an idea of the difference in visibility http://rohanhill.com/tools/Relative...0&nm2=405&mw2=200&useRaleigh=on&ChromaCompat=

In Germany only lasers with 1mw are allowed.
But a flashlightstyle laser should look like a flashlight on the x-ray.
And they never opened any of my packets with flashlights in it.

What do you thinkt about this laser pointers?:

check out the red link in my sig, its a ~50$ laser that isn't too bright but still can burn. You do need safety glasses for it though, especially if you want to burn things and be able to watch

The second one looks good. Than i will have to pay a bit more ;)
The only thing i fear is, that the customs will controll it and i don't get my laser. Than my money is gone.
Its easier to buy flashlights :D

Get it registered then if customs take it you get your money back. It is only a $2 fee but most of the time if you just ask max he will include it for free :D

I would look carefully at the company you buy from. I have a few lasers and have had good experiance with O-like and Jet Lasers. Yes they are more expensive than a company like LASERSMAN who I will NEVER recommend. They are selling a so-called <200 mw green laser for $24+ dollars. Of course its not 200mw more like perhaps 50mw. Get something that will last and use a company that cares and gives great customer service. I have a current problem no because I bought from them returned the item to China, paid for shipping and they dont accept the package! then also refuse to refund.

Thats the reason why i want to buy at lazerer now.
They check every laser before they send it.

If you are worried about custom seisures then it is better to build your own green laser.
Buy a 100-200mW module and a C6 host with heatsink. A little fiddling with the wires inside and you are done.
