Well if you don't mind it getting dropped then a DX wouldn't be the best choice due to their fragility. And if you're using it for star pointing only 50mW will be a bit much, kills your night eyes from over exposure and the such. Maybe go for these:
True 30mW http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.469
30mW http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2391
50mW http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2390
True 10mW http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.938

The professional version would be a great choice as well due to its increased duty cycle and it probably will stay stable for longer. I am also looking to get a lower powered green to go with my CNI and I was looking at the one's that I sent you, mainly the True 30mW.

i would say go with just a 5mw greenie from Destructive Gear, 40 bucks shipped. I would trust their build quality over the DX, but you can definately get a great bang for your buck for less then 50 at DX.

I would agree with rhith though, if you go DX get the professional CR2 powered one. I have one in the mail right now and I'll be using it for starpointing and carrying around and such. The clicky on/off is nice, its got a bulky design, and its "10mw" (who knows wut the real mw is, cant trust the labels on DX) but still, good deal for a rugged starpointer.

Good Luck

I like the form factor of this and I read the pot is easily accessible for modding.
Only issue is that it takes CR2s.

Dough, Let me know how your 10mw pro CR2 performs when you get it.

Otherwise, I totally recommend the DX true 30 despite some other people's reviews with dimming and button problems. My button clicks audibly and in place for me so I can't understand the issue some ppl are complaining about. The threads are good such that the clip actually lines up exactly with the button when fully screwed. I like the black rubberized parts as it makes it feel rugged and doesn't scratch/scar with carry. Nice weight and heft in hand. Mine is still going strong after almost a month. Maybe I got lucky. I am always tempted to get another.

Alternatively, cross over to Kai,
They seem to be trying to beat DX on price for all their lasers.

But I haven't read good things about Kai's lasers and he doesn't mention if they are new wish or otherwise.

No one mentioned the Core at $40 shipped :D

No problem, was gonna post a review with pics and stuff cause it looks like a nice little laser, and yes with an easily accessible pot, so ill see if that can do anything as well. However, my shipment witht he laser has arrived, with no laser and no lighter. Then the lighter arrived a week later, with no laser. Still waiting on the laser :'( (dont worry it said they were just out of stock or didnt ship yet, it didnt get seized by customs... *crosses fingers*)

And screw the core, I'm anti Core :p
Go DG Greenie, 40 bucks shipped, and your not giving any buisness to WL hehe
