A Little Trouble...

When I first turn on my laser, its SUPER bright. Very impressive. But within a second, it dims down quite a bit. It didn't do this when I first got it.

I'm assuming its because the batteries can't keep up with the laser. I'm only using really cheap-o batteries, and when I switched them out it seemed to help the problem for a little bit.

It DID come from LEDShoppe, so thats whats making me a bit worried. I've only had it for (almost) 24 hours.

Does it just sound like the batteries to you guys? I'm going to run out and get some good batteries later on today, but I figured I'd post anyway just for opinions.

I have the 50mw ledshoppe greenie. I use the energizer E2 batts and i can pop balloons easily.

Well, I replaced the batteries and it doesn't seem to do it quite as MUCH, but it still does it sometimes.

Its not really a dim that you'd notice unless you knew how bright it could be. For example, when I turn the laser on, pressed against my finger, I see it light up bright, and then cut back a bit.

I've tried multiple sets of batteries, its not the batteries.

It almost seems like the laser needs to "warm up", because after playing with it for a few minutes it stops. Its not really worth me sending it back to them.

I was going to order another one anyway...when that one comes in, I'll just give this one to my girlfriend

That's fairly normal for a DPSS laser, even expensive lasers usually have an initial peak, then level off to their average power. They're also quite temperature sensitive as you have seen. Some of my lasers prefer to be warm, others prefer to be cool. It just depends on your laser.
