Also remember that you won't be able to show your mates the burning power unless you have specs for them too. You have no idea how bright these things are!

Thanks for the response, but I was really going after maximum perceived brightness per dollar rather than wanting to invest in burning power, so I'll hold off on that blowtorch purchase for now.

anyways on subject, very nice laser I almost bought this a little while back.

This laser from lazerer on their website does not mention anything about it being focusable,so can i assume the beam is solid all the way through and not focusable?
Reason why i ask is because i have a fixed focus 50mw green and its looks great on a night and with a great range and i was looking for another green but much more power ,Then i got a focusable 1w blue and it wont focus a dot on a distant object.(1000 ft) if anything its a smudge of a dot.so im kinda put off by focusable lasers if i cant tune them to infinity!!!!!
Im not interested in burning lasers,just a green dot over a long Distance 2kms or more.can the LZSK532 400mw do this??

Its not focusable, and no it doesn't have good divergence.
Both probably the only cons of that laser.

So basically I wouldn't recommend buying this considering you are looking for long distances. the dot will be massive at the range.

I have this laser and it's focusable. I don't know how to measure divergence but I think it looks pretty good at long distances.

That was also my intention. To get the best price/brightness ratio. That´s why I bought it. I´m not that much into burning, but if burning is what you need a blue or blueray us much much better.

Of course you can get one of the expencive Optronics, CNI, Laserglow and whatsever with IR filter installed, but the price / brightness ratio will not be as good as with this. You can even get it cheaper at O-like, but due to bad experiences with them I prefered to get this one from lazerer and am very satisfited with the service they are giving. That´s why I decided to pay a few dollars more, but to get a up to specs laser rather than something between 180mW and 400 mW.

This laser is of course focusable. For me personally this is a disadvantage because I like it to be focused to infinity with the best divergence and don´t like it to defocus easyly after I adjusted it to infinity.

Well everyone is different. As I stayed somwhere else I wished I could get one that is as bright as a lasersabber but totally harmless. Unfortunally this is just a dream. But if it comes to the amount of IR I will tell you just this. Not the IR will blind you but the green. Once 400mW or just 300mW green will hit your eye directly, it will not matter there is 5 or 80mW IR.

Even a 175mW IR filtered will blind you, so why to care about the IR?

Simply handle them with care. Not as a toy but like a weapon and you will be on the safe side.
