I wanted a nice 532nm laser that I could safely use without glasses so I ordered the Galileo 5. I'm hoping that the beam will be visible in low lit rooms and at night. But I really am just excited to see the nice quality of Laserglow as I have heard so much about it.

If the beam is visible in a low lit room, then it is definitely stronger than 5mw, which in turn means YOU MUST HAVE SAFETY GOGGLES TO USE IT INDOORS. You only get one set of eyes, why waste them when it can so easily be avoided? Laser light can be thousands of times stronger than looking directly at the sun!

5mW at 532nm is most definitely visible in a dimly lit room.

Every single one of the Lyras that I tested from the LPF pointer GB from Laserglow were; and every single one of them metered at 4-5mW on their LPM.

532nm is just bright like that. :D

I only have one weaker laser, a cheap greeny from ebay. Its definitely stronger than 5mw (can pop balloon) but I cant see it in a room if the sun is out.

I guess it is relative to what you consider dim, I was thinking too brightly :beer:

Just got it in the mail today! Beam can be seem barely but I hasn't been dark yet. Beam profile is great and so is the over all quality.

Take some nice beam pictures and pictures of the laser and write up a review if you have time!

Oh no! After looking closer at the beam in the dark, it is not aligned. It has noticeable angle as comes out. Should I send it back? Or is this normal?

That's pretty common. I don't think that falls under LG's return policy.

Its "common" so some people have that, others dont. Either way as long as the full beam is leaving the aperature (meaning none of it is being cut off by the cap) then you're good...
