Laserbtb LP 532nm Questions

Hello, this is my first thread, so sorry if I break any guidelines but I'll try not to! I have never purchased a high powered laser and was looking for a green laser hearing that they are some of the brightest. After looking around for a while, I found this laser --> LP 515nm 532nm 1-150. I was thinking of buying the 100mw model with an IR filter. Has anyone ever had experience with this laser or know the quality the laser company provides? Thank you for the feedback!

This company has very good reputation on their lasers , i cant say about that one as i dont own the pen from them but i wouldnt doubt they keep decent quality for its price, there should be some reviews on this one i think ive seen a few. I would say if you want a pen thats a pretty good choice.

Yeah you can't go wrong with them UNLESS you have never owned a laser before, in which case anything over 5mW is a no-no

Btw... what are you planning on doing with the laser?

I have owned a 5mw red laser before, but nothing good. I have a 70$ budget and I want to use it for mostly stargazing but maybe a little bit for burning. I their a better choice?

Yes, I would advise buying one of their green handheld (HL) lasers either 50mW or 100mW. The HL host is much better than the LP host and better heatsinked so if you buy a DPSS laser (532 green) it will in theory be more stable.

I have discovered that mine actually prefers to run cold and then mode hops like a MF after being on for about a minute; a theory I have going is that the 808nm pump diode is overdriven slightly and fires at bang on 808nm from the get go, and then begins to lase closer to 809nm once it warms up, causing the mode hopping and instability of the DPSS process. Most people see it the other way around, mode hopping at startup and then stability as the pump diode warms.

regarding the greens, I have never seen 520 or 515 in person but I can't see me buying one. Turqoise is my least favourite of the colours and the aforementioned wavelengths look to me in all photos I've seen to be at the green end of turquoise. Many people say it's "greener" than 532 but to me 532 is about as green as it gets... a warm green, but definitely very green.

If you have any questions to ask me about the laserbtb HL host, fire away.

532nm looks very green-yellow compared to 514nm, 514nm by itself seems pretty pure green to me. But 532nm by itself also looks like a very vibrant green
